Yep. That’s right. Do what you really want to do when you feel like doing it. Throughout your day, pay attention to how you really feel called to act, deep down, and then act upon it. You’ll find that what you really want is always healthy. It always honors you.
When you live in this manner, you flow with life instead of fighting against it. You are no longer in a state of resistance, obligation, or lack. And the best part is that your intuition opens wide. You become guided perfectly through your life.
Now I know that work environments can make this challenging. But when you honor yourself at every moment and follow your inspiration, you will begin to know harmony. You will have more energy, be more productive, and feel well rested because you’re listening to your needs. You are listening to yourself for once, not others. Even mundane tasks won’t feel mundane because you won’t be “managing” them. Instead, your intuition will be leading you towards what’s most fulfilling. You will feel the universe supporting you and your dreams.
For example, it’s Saturday, and you realize that you have to do the dishes. But you’d rather go outside in the fresh air. You decide to honor what you really want to do. You go outside.
It feels great – the sky is blue, the birds are singing – it’s a beautiful day. You feel present in the moment. Suddenly, you remember the yard-work you meant to get done. Now, you feel like doing it. In fact, it will be fun. And it is! Because you feel like doing it. You forgot how much you love to be outside working in nature.
As you’re finishing up, you have a revelation about your real work – your career. It’s the most creative out of the box idea, and it’s going to help our planet. You feel so inspired that you start on it immediately (because you feel like it). Now, at some point you need a break. You’ve gotten your ideas out and now you don’t want to think at all – just do something more simple. You do the dishes because you feel like doing them.
This is how we create a balanced life. My amazing friend Francoise Everett is a big proponent of this, and what’s so exciting is that she’s applying it to Motherhood. She’s helping Mothers all over the world to honor themselves and their purpose, and in the process, honor their children more consciously. Francoise calls this approach Guilt Free Mothering, and she’s teaching us that when we take care of ourselves without feeling guilty for it, we are shown how to take care of others beautifully.
We must honor our sacred selves, and when we do, we create with vision and responsibility. Inspiration flows through our hands and shapes a more beautiful world. And right now, there is so much creative energy available to us. In my own life, I can feel it constantly flooding in! When you allow yourself to feel this energy, you harness it in the unique way that only you can. When you do this long enough, you will hop out of bed because you can’t wait to get to work on your passion. This is how all work will be in our future. It will be joyful and purposeful, creating greater harmony for all.
This kind of harmony is calling you at every moment of your life. So ask yourself, am I answering the call?
Wow- the timing of this couldn’t be better for me after a stressful morning because I didn’t follow my gut! I had just resolved to do this next time the bus is twenty minutes late, which happens often.Thank you for confirming that our ‘Mother’s intuition’ is what to follow no matter how much our twelve year old daughter pleads otherwise!
Oh exactly! How many times have I done this – waiting and not listening to my needs. Just as you say, being a mom has really accentuated this for me. Thank you for that special mom’s intuition that guides and allows schedules to fall into place! And thanks for sharing here Chris : )
I love it. Thank you for mentioning me! Oh, and the links look great!
Love you, Francoise
Thank you Francoise! Love your work!
Awesome, Suzy! Love the message.
Thanks Josh! I can’t wait to catch up on your blog. I remember the Book of Job hit me profoundly while studying it in college. Can’t wait to see what you’ve written at http://www.spiritofthescripture.com/.

Not only is it a great way to experience this like “doing what you feel” and when we add in feel what you do. Yes I know that this is a play on words, still if we listen to our hearts and out minds at the same time we do end up doing the very thing at the very moment that is perfect for our continued growth on this path we call life.
What a great way to tie these blogs up! Thanks for seeing it so that I can too – Do what you really feel like doing, and fully feel it as you do.
Wonderful to have you here : )
